I believe many crochet beginners have encountered this common problem, where we have been practicing crochet for a while, but we can only crochet when we follow someone else’s pattern. We do not know how the pattern works. In this tutorial, I will share with you a crochet circle formula. As long as you understand this formula, you simply won’t get your crochet circle wrong. Also with this formula, you can easily make a circle with the size you want. Eventually, you can create your own crochet pattern and project.

Crochet Perfect Circle Tutorial
Crochet Circle Formula
SC= Single Crochet
Inc= 2 SC in one stitch
‣ Round 1: Number of SC (named ”A” below)
‣ Round 2: Inc *A
‣ Round 3: (SC1 ,Inc)xA
‣ Round 4: (SC2 ,Inc)xA
‣ Round 5: (SC3 ,Inc)xA
⁝
And so on.
If you wish to continue to expand your circle, increase the number of single crochet in every next round. Applying this, there will be 4 SC in Round 6 and 5 SC in Round 7. You can always change the number of SC in Round 1 as long as you can close magic circle after finishing Round 1.
